My sweet girl. My baby. There are no words to describe how proud I am of you. Your intelligence, your kindness, your good heart, your tenacity, and your beauty all make me smile.
I smile as I listen to you and your brother discussing topics that go way over my head. I smile when you take time to talk to little strangers who think you’re famous and just want to hug you. I smile when ponytails players want to hug their umpire while they argue over which of them is your favorite then try to bribe you by sharing team snack. I smile when you drop everything to go help your “sisters.” I smile when little ones leave their families at concerts and sneak to the band room because they need to find Emma and give a hug before she goes on stage. I smile when you are determined you are going to get that pitch or that back walkover or that concert piece or that English paper written…all of them done just right. And I smile when I simply look at you and realize you are not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.
I have always said my most important job was to raise my kids to be good human beings no matter what else they may be. You are a good human being, Emma. You have grown into a beautiful young woman and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. I know that no matter where your path leads you, you will be amazing because you have always been amazing. And know that while your path will lead you up and away, it will also always lead you home…to your mom.
You, my sweet girl, have always been and will always be My Sunshine.
I love you with all my heart,
Emma is a 2019 Graduate from Bolingbrook High School. I had the pleasure of having her as part of my 2019 Spokesmodel Team.
She is funny, down to earth, so kind, talented, crazy smart and obviously, beautiful! Don’t be a stranger Emma. Love you!
