By now, you have probably noticed that I love photographing high school juniors and seniors. They are so full of life and they help keep me feeling young. I had a client tell me, “I probably won’t continue dancing once I start college and I really want to have something that I can always have and show my kids”. That was when I decided to do a series called “Do What You Love”. The DWYL series is capturing the students doing just that! Many of them play sports, some sing, others dance, some like to read etc.
Well, I have been wanting to photograph a runner and Glancer magazine gave me that opportunity. I met Nicole and her mother Kristy at the track of Kaneland High School. They were both so friendly and easy to work with. I had a great time with them and honestly, if time allowed, I would have loved to have taken more shots of her. Nicole is featured in the August issue of Glancer because of her athleticism. I encourage you to read the article written by Kristen Kucharski on page 14. You’ll get a sneak peak into how well rounded and great athlete Nicole is.
As we were leaving, we were talking about how much Nicole likes KHS and the great friends that she has there. Ironically, we discovered that one of her good friends, Olivia, is related to me. Haha Small world!
