Special Survivor Games – Peterson Elementary School PTA – Naperville IL
Veronica Adams Photography was proud to be a part of this very special event for the third year in a row. Special Survivor Games is an event in which children with special needs in Indian Prairie District 204 get to play back yard style games in a relay race format. It was founded by 16 year old, Marissa Kucharski back in 2012.
The Peterson PTA hosts the games in the school gym and there are many volunteers that help make the event a smashing success. This year some of the cheerleaders from Neuqua Valley High School, in Naperville, assisted along with other students, teachers, and peer buddies.
Next year I would like to have at least three photographers with me since everything happens so quickly and I know I am missing a ton of smiles and laughter from everyone. I admit that I would get captivated in watching a participant just enjoy the moment with their peer buddy. I could not stop smiling.
Seriously a heart-melting event.
